DepressionDC Data Usage Agreement

A. Scientific Integrity

  • Investigators commit to reporting all analyses performed in the resulting manuscript, including exploratory analyses.
  • The Steering Committee reserves the right to revoke data access in cases of scientific misconduct, breach of this agreement, or failure to meet the agreed timeline without prior notification.


B. Publication and Authorship

  • Publications must follow ICMJE authorship criteria and acknowledge the TRACE platform and original data contributors using standard language: 
    • This study used data from DepressionDC (DOI: 10.1016/S0140-6736(23)00640-2) accessed via the TRACE platform (Translational Research Access and Collaboration Environment, https://trace.ibe.med.uni-muenchen.de/ at the Institute for Medical Information Processing, Biometry and Epidemiology (IBE), LMU Munich. The original study is described in DOI: 10.1016/S0140-6736(23)00640-2. The original study was supported by

      by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (FKZ 01EE1403G)."

  • Draft manuscripts must be shared with the Steering Committee at least 14 days before submission for review of data accuracy and acknowledgment.
  • The original trial publication and the TRACE dataset and version used must be cited in the methods section.


C. Data Protection

  • All analyses must be conducted exclusively within the TRACE analytic environment. Data must not be downloaded, copied, or transferred to any external system.
  • Data must not be used to attempt re-identification of participants.

D. Terms of Agreement

  • Substantial changes to the proposed analysis require a written amendment approved by the Steering Committee.
  • I agree that my name, affiliation, and contact information will be stored and displayed on TRACE.
  • I agree that upon acceptance, the research question, analytic plan, variable selection, and analysis code will be published on TRACE.
